What is a department?

A department corresponds to a technical service: lighting, sound, stage, video, rigging...

  • Each department has its own access rights per user
  • A lighting manager can have access to the lighting department only
  • A technical director can have access to every department
  • The number of departments can be changed at any time
  • Start with 1 department, add more as you go

Examples:
Companies often use 1 department. Theatres generally have 2-4. Opera houses may have 8-10.

Training is not required to use GDM, but it is available.

Frequently asked questions

What is a department? ▼
A department can also be called a service. Examples: lighting, sound, stage, video, rigging. Each organisation has a different number of departments depending on its structure. Companies will often not need more than one department, unlike opera houses which may have around ten. You can start with a single department and change the number later on.
Can I stop at any time? ▼
The subscription is monthly, with no commitment. You can stop at any time: the subscription ends at the end of the chosen month. Billing is annual, so if you stop during the year, a pro-rata amount is refunded. At the end of your subscription, you keep read-only access for 1 year and can download your data in Excel format. After that period, your data is deleted.
Which payment methods are accepted? ▼
We accept bank transfers. An invoice is sent to you every year.
Are there any additional fees? ▼
No. The subscription includes all online features, server rental, every update, technical support and unlimited users. Mobile scanning is included for standard use. Group training sessions are optional (€600 excl. VAT/day).
How does the onboarding work? ▼
We provide you with an Excel file to fill in. From this file, an algorithm transfers all your data into the software. Not ready yet? We can enter the data in several stages. For example, if you want to start with only the lights, drapes or microphones. That way, you get to grips with your new tool step by step.
